The first capital city of ancient Sri Lanka, which is located in 205 km north from Colombo with providing evidence of great Sinhalese culture. After the collapse of the golden era of Anuradhapura the kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka has been moved to Polonnaruwa. This grandeur kingdom was established at 11th century A.D and dominated by three powerful kings. Located 103.8 km south east from Anuradhapura city this ancient city is another world heritage declared by UNESCO.
